Where: Start + Finish @ Harmer Green
When: Saturday 1st November @ 1900 hours (7 pm)
Team-Name: "Pugwash 6"
What To Bring: This is not a kit-list as such, but from experience I suggest you take the following things:

  • Compass!!
  • Multiple layers of warm clothing
  • Waterproof top, and if available waterproof overtrousers
  • Hiking Boots (NOT trainers) + Thick Socks
  • Sweets! (Jelly cubes also work)
  • Sleeping Bag + Roll mat
  • Emergency Mobile Phone (to go in envelope as emergency phone, 1 per team)
  • Hat, Gloves and Scarf as appropriate!
  • Medium Size rucksack (not a great big hiking bag, you do not have to carry sleeping bag etc)

Results:

Despite the Rain before, after and during the hike a good time was had by all. I am planning to upload some form of map with the checkpoint locations marked as I have a laminated copy, but for now I have made a copy of the results given to the team leaders earlier today. It can be viewed at:

Google Document

You should not have to download the file at all as Google documents allows files to be viewed online. If you would like a copy of the excel file I would be happy to post a further link.

Harmer Green

Harmer Green is a local campsite, just off Woolmer Green, where over the years we have held various evenings and camps.

Some Brief information is provided on part of the Herts scouts website:

Harmer Green

Below is a link to a Google map showing the advised route from The Scout hut, to the bottom of the Harmer Green "track". The track is at the moment VERY bumpy, and should be driven with caution. It is in desperate need of repair but it hasn't happened yet, and i'm guessing it won't happen for along time to come.

Welcome to the Sea Scouts Blog

Welcome to the 7th Stevenage Sea Scouts blog,

News and Information, as well as pictures will be available from this very blog, and if all goes well it will be updated regularly and prove to be of some use!

Daniel and I, are jointly running the blog, as we have experience in previous blogs, and are enthusiastic on making News more readily available to those who need it.

Such a scheme has been attempted before, but we plan to make this work, and benefit all scouts and their families.

Thank you for visitng, and we hope to see you again in the future!
